Description:
Sauce-boat. From the Meissen style it is probable that this service was ordered through the Swedish East India Company. Coat of arms and crest of Hall, “Sable three talbots’ heads erased argent”; crest “A talbot’s head erased argent”. Although the service is reputed to have been made for Richard Hall of Hatton Gardens in London, who was a director of the East India Company and died in November 1786, it seems more probable that it was for one of the Halls in Gothenburg. Made of enamelled porcelain.
