Description:
Collar, two side vents and front edge, decorative sections from a jacket. a) Collar section showing examples of embroidery, braiding, folded silk and edging stitch with foil and sequin decoration. Stitching on silk background with textile backing. Same design as modern example bought in Lande (2005,0731.7). The embroidery and other techniques are fashioned in silk threads in greens, pinks, blues and yellow. The design depicts four dragons? and 2 and half flowers. The stitching was sewn onto a brown base fabric colour which is backed with off-white paper. b) Side vent showing braiding, folded silk and cross stitch with flat ribbon. c) Side vent as above d) Front edge, woven strip with embroidery strip attached.
