Plate. Coat of arms. Gourlay. The arms are copied from a bookplate and are recorded as Gourlay (although a number of other families bear the same coat), “Sable an eagle displayed argent.” The cavetto is decorated with a spearhead pattern and the rim has a European leaf scroll.
