Wang Zhenpeng (circa 1280-13229 AD), a native of Yongjia, Zhejiang Province, was named Peng Mei. The Emperor Renzong of the Yuan Dynasty gave him the title of Gu Yun Chushi. He served as the secretary to supervise the books, and moved to thousands of grain transport households. He was famous for his boundary paintings. This volume depicts the Qing Ming Festival in the Northern Song Dynasty, when the emperor came to the Jinmingchi Lake in Kaifeng to watch various military acrobatics and dragon boat races. According to the fund at the end of the volume, it was painted in the third year of the reign of Emperor Wuzong of the Yuan Dynasty (1310). Wang used dense and complex lines to sketch palaces, pavilions and dragon boats, and also painted lively folk activities such as miscellaneous music and various operas. It is a masterpiece of boundary painting in the Yuan Dynasty.
