Description:
TLV mirror with eight nipples. Round bronze mirror with a hemispherical knob surrounded by a concentric double-line circle encased in a triple-line square with a simple floral motif in each corner. Each outer corner of the square is framed by a nipple which themselves are sitting in a concentric circle. Between each nipple are the ‘Ts’ which sit opposite the ‘Ls’ at the rim. Opposite each outer corner of the square is a ‘V’ with the exception of one where there is a four character inscription resembling a seal impression. The space between these markings is filled with eight creatures, among the Animals of the Four Direction. The whole main decoration is framed by a hachured band. The wide rim is decorated with three bands: a sawtooth motifs followed by a floral scroll and a plain egde.
