Description:
Porcelain meiping vase with underglaze blue decoration. This small meiping is very unusual as it has a cylindrical neck, broad shoulders, a narrow waist, flared foot with bevelled edge and recessed base. It is painted with a design of chrysanthemum heads reserved in white on a blue ground and with a band of vertical lines around the neck. The mark on the base is in the form of a Chinese coin with a double ring edge and a square centre inscribed ‘Chang ming fu gui’ [Long life, riches and honour].
