Description:
Porcelain jar with underglaze blue decoration. This globular jar has a short neck with a dish mouth and recessed base. It is painted in underglaze blue outlines with a dream-like garden scene showing a man, dressed in fine clothes, accompanied by a tiger and by a servant carrying books. Around the shoulder is a border of ‘ruyi’ heads and there are lozenges and dots around the neck.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:The scenes on this jar and BM 1927.0524.1 are identical, but the execution of the brushwork on this example is much stiffer and simpler.
