Description:
Porcelain jar of guan form with rounded body, thick mouth rim and animal masks on the shoulders, pierced to hold metal rings. There is a diaper band in underglaze cobalt blue round the lip and a scroll of chrysanthemum in underglaze cobalt blue round the neck, a band of lotus panels with auspicious emblems in underglaze cobalt blue on shoulder above a band containing phoenixes flying amid lotus scrolls, large scrolling flowers on the body, and lappets on the lower section. The base and foot ring are unglazed.
