Comments:Mughul jade jar from a spreading, petal-form foot, the depressed globular sides, from which two delicately worked and pierced handles in the form of acanthus flowers and leaves issue, rise to a stepped shoulder and terminate in a waisted neck. Two bands of garlanded florwers in shallow relief encircle the neck and shoulder and a further hand of upright leaves surrounds the foot. The base is worked as an open flower with a cross-hatched stamen. The extremely thin stone is a fine greyish-white tone with some grey markings and bears a high polish.
