Jacket; part of girl’s festival costume As.1998.1.46 to 53. Collarless, short sleeved, base cloth of deep red or purple manufactured silk satin with damask roundels. Lining is hand-spun, hand-woven indigo dyed cotton. Wide cuffs of deep blue manufactured cotton. Decorated with detachable embroidered cuff band. Design and materials similar to turban As.1998.1.46, with additional metal circles with beaten motifs. Edged with narrow borders of hand-embroidered strips of manufactured cloth. Additional sequins and tinsel decoration.
