Description:
Ge stoneware incense burner in the form of an ancient bronze gui with two small handles in the form of fish or birds. The incense-burner has a dark grey body covered with thick yellowish-grey glaze with even crackle stained dark grey and ginger.

This has been translated as ‘In the Song dynasty there were not many exquisite wares. Most of the vessels were censers and vases. It is wonderful to enjoy a fine work or art. The pleasure leaves a lasting impression. This censer has two handles by which to carry it. There are six marks on the base like nails. The original colour is of dark earth. Some say it is the colour of iron, but they are mistaken.
