Description:
Beaded band; part of girl’s festival costume As.1998.1.46 to 53. Worn with turban As.1998.1.46. Base cloth of orange satin lined with manufactured cotton, decorated with white couched outline made of a fibre core whipped with silk, further outline with metallic foil. Infill of solid embroidery in bright pink, terracotta, turquoise and green, flower and leaf motifs. Further embellished with sequins and a pearl fringe with metal balls. Additional three-dimensional flowers are attached by safety pins.
