Description:
A dance (?) hat; straight sides, tapers to a flat top [13 cms wide]. Made from pink brocaded silk velvet cloth (floral patterning worked in gold metal-wrapped cloth). Three ‘eyes’ applied to front (metal strip, satin silk cloth). Four silver metal skulls with brass (?) appendages stitched to ridge, bottom front. (One skull has come detached.) Lined with red tabby cotton cloth; double ties (damaged on right side, as worn) made from same material. Back undecorated.
