Description:
A monk’s / lama’s hat / head-dress; deepest at centre front, tapering towards back. Made from a red wool fabric with a tight, close pile on woven (?) ground; technique? Red twill woven wool flaps at back, stitched together at tip. Lined with coarse natural cream tabby woven cotton cloth, some sections printed. Crest made of strands of red woollen yarn, longest at mid-top; stitched tightly at outer edge to produce pile effect.
