Comments:Corrigan notes that the Geija people are considered by the Han people to be Miao, but they consider themselves to be a separate minority group called Geija. They live in an area west of Kaili to Chongan town and along the Conganjiang river.Text from Corrigan 2001: 76: kaili city, qiandongnan prefecture. Woman’s Hat (Gejia Group). This style of hat is worn on market days and at festivals. A flat-topped headpiece with an outer row of shiny beads and a distinctive bright red fringe. It rests on an undercap of cotton, decorated in wax resist, which covers the ears and the back of the head and is held in place by a long silver hatpin.
