Description:
A man’s hat with back flap; for travel. Crown and flap made from brown/maroon woven wool cloth with nap. Cotton (?) velvet disc stitched centre top and band at base; disc edged with interlaced (braided) metal ribbon (gold metal-wrapped thread). Same ribbon used to segment crown into four sections. Light brown fur trim around base – wider at back – and under flap. Much fur missing, revealing cream coloured skin underneath. Skin also missing at back of flap. Crown lined with blue (indigo dyed?) twill cotton cloth. Red tabby cotton ties.
