- Description:
Lu You (1125 – 1210 AD), a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, and also engaged in calligraphy. Lu You is also an expert in tea tasting. This letter is written in running script, and the content is to thank you for giving back 30 new tea hips and 50 fish roes to friends. In the Song Dynasty, the round shape is called “cake”, while other shapes are called “crotch”, such as square square crotch and flower shaped crotch. However, Lu You can give tea to 30 people at a time. It can be seen that it is not tribute tea for the palace, but for folk use. “Thirty hips of new tea” also shows the good tea of Lu You.
