Liao and Jinyu “Ga chat”, bone shaped white jade, jade is warm and moist. “Ga chat” is the name given to “patella” (kneecap) by nomadic people in Liao and Jin Dynasties. Originally, the patella of the object was used as a toy or chess piece. Later, the “Ga chat”, which was made of metal or jade, evolved into an auspicious ornament for avoiding evil spirits and praying for good luck.
