Description:
This seated famille verte porcelain figure on a hexagonal base represents Han Xiangzi, one of the Eight Daoist Immortals. He is identified by his attribute, a flute which he carries in his right hand but which is broken off. He is dressed in a white robe, decorated with plum blossom, and his hair is tied in two top knots. The front of the base is painted with a central chrysanthemum flower head on a diaper ground and the back with a lozenge-shaped chime flanked by two flower heads. Originally it would have belonged to a set of eight figures.
