  This picture is selected from the eleventh picture in the Collection of Famous Paintings. The artistic conception of the painting is taken from the five character quatrain “Snow on the River” by Liu Zongyuan (773-819), a poet of the Tang Dynasty: “Birds fly away from thousands of mountains, and people disappear along thousands of paths; people fish alone in the cold river snow in a solitary boat with coir and bamboo hat.”
