- Description:
The meaning of the two tree stones in this picture seems to be endless. It should be a remnant of the long scroll. On the plain, the trees are withering, and the sky is bleak and snowy. On the path, two Weng Weng walk and talk, and a child follows. The whole painting is carefully and meticulously painted, and the ink method is excellent. It is one of the outstanding paintings in the Song Dynasty. This painting depicts a bleak landscape in the north. The theme of this cold forest and plain field was created by Li Cheng of the Northern Song Dynasty. However, Guo Xi’s influence on the dyeing of slope stones and the arrangement of trees and branches in the painting is the style of the Northern Song Dynasty. Therefore, even if this picture is not based on Guo Xi, it is also a work of the same era. The line of flying geese on the right is thin, which may be supplemented by later generations.
