Description:
Carved ivory figure of a female immortal wearing a feather cloak. Her left hand was previously clutching a staff but whatever was held in her raised right hand is missing. The ivory is stained with colour, which has now darkened.

Comments:The figure is likely to be Mao Yujiang, the Daoist immortal, who was forced to serve in the Qin palace by Qingshihuangdi and later escaped with the help of Zhang Fu, who later became her husband. According to the legend, the couple spent their rest of lives in Huangshan, cultivating into the immorality. Mao Yujiang is said to be covered by green hairs.
