Description:
Pair of ‘famille rose’ figures of hawks. The two hawks are naturalistically modelled in corresponding poses, perched on pierced rockwork bases, their heads turned to one side to form a corresponding pair. The rockwork bases are splashed with purple, blue and turquoise enamels, and the birds are perched with one leg raised and are painted in sepia, their feathers delicately pencilled in a darker shade and with details in gold, their eye sockets green, and the beaks golden and red inside.
