  • Dynasty: Song dynasty
  • Category: Jades
  • Function: Furnisher
  • Material: Minerals/Jade Jewelry/Jade
  • Description:
Grass green jade with brown yellow spots on the edge. The front of the disc is decorated with dragon patterns, sharp snout, long horns, and a row of round beads carved at the root of the horn. The body is full of manes and thin necks. The body is bent and turned like a ribbon. The plane is undulating, and the whole body is covered with fine scales. The scales are carved with fine lines. The limbs are full of texture, the feet have three toes, and the toe nails are sharp like sickles. The gap is filled with hollow grass pattern brocade ground, and the level is slightly lower than the dragon pattern. The patterns on the back are just like those on the front. Except that the dragon’s beard is thick and there are no fine lines on its scales, other details are not simple. As far as the pattern is concerned, such a strong and vigorous dragon pattern is similar to the dragon pattern embedded on the jade chamber attached to the Jade Book of Zhenzong Zen Earth in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the style is more like a gold and silver toilet box unearthed from the tomb of Princess Chen of the Liao Dynasty, but the dragon pattern on the jade plate is thin, which is different from the silk tapestry works of dragon patterns among flowers of the Song Dynasty stored in our hospital
