Description:
The end stone and inkstone are round and not very thick. They are carved in the shape of a phoenix pond. The stone is purple ochre. The inkstone hall is slightly raised and then slants into the ink pool. The ink pool is deep. The character “Dongjing” is carved on the top. There are stars and clouds around the inkstone, which is full of ancient interest. There are two feet below the back of the inkstone, which looks like a heart. Above the inkstone, the character “Shi” is carved in regular script. On the right side, a stone column is raised, and on the left side, there is a square seal of “Merlin Sheng” (according to the name of Merlin Sheng, it is named Ming Xiang Yuanbian). On the wall below the inkstone, there is an inscription of Emperor Qianlong’s imperial inscription Regular script: “Well people, who are clean, can draw. They should be careful about Wang Ming. Well people, who are raised, should be calm and young. They should look up to their saintly words, like Zizhan. Although they can’t do what they want in the time, they should inscribe inkstones on the east well and think about their feet. I’m afraid that people will sneer at me for knowing the past but not the present.” The title of the article is “The Imperial Inscription of Qianlong’s Hundred Days”, and the second seal is “Ancient Fragrance” and “Tai Pu”.
