Gilt bronze figurine of the Buddha. The figure stands on a circular base representing a double lotus, the head surrounded by a halo and a mandorla. The large protuberance on top of the head is clearly visible and a long stole has been draped around the shoulders. The right hand is raised in front of the shoulder and the left hand hanging down by the side. This is the Abhaya mudrā (mudrā of no-fear). The Buddha seems to be holding something in his left hand but the object is not discernible. A small tang protrudes from the base of the figure suggesting that it was used as a finial.
