Description:
Porcelain dish with underglaze blue and overglaze green enamel. This dish has rounded sides with an everted rim and a tapering foot. Inside in a double ring medallion a full-frontal dragon prances on its hind legs, outlined in black and painted with green enamel on an underglaze blue ground of stylized waves. On the outside are two similarly executed dragons, shown in profile, chasing each other clockwise on a background of underglaze blue waves. The base carries a six-character imperial Jiajing reign mark in a double ring.
