Description:
Porcelain incised dish with monochrome blue glaze. This dish has rounded sides, an everted lip and a tapering foot. It has sunk slightly in the centre during the firing process and its base carries a six-character Wanli reign mark incised in a double ring. The dish is covered inside and out with a rich monochrome blue glaze, beneath which can just be perceived an incised design of a full-frontal dragon surrounded by ‘ruyi’ clouds inside, and two dragons chasing flaming pearls outside. During the firing, the glaze has crept away from the rim, attractively exposing the pure white porcelain beneath.
