Porcelain dish with lobed sides and scalloped rim. Underglaze blue with dense band of waves above foot, and band of white flowers and rocks against dense spiral ground. Similar flowers and ground inside, with a large sea creature in the centre. There is an inscription on the base.

On the base is an inscription reading 弘光元年曠府佳器 (Hongguang yuannian Guangfu jiaqi ‘Fine vessel for the Guang family mansion in the first year of Hongguang [AD 1644]’) in a double circle on the base. Dishes with this type of decoration but with apocryphal Jiajing marks have been found on the Hatcher shipwreck dateable to about AD 1640–1644. Porcelain with underglaze cobalt-blue decoration Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province 江西省, 景德鎮Qing dynasty or Republican period, about AD 1900–1949 PDF B641海獸紋銘款瓷盤瓷盤裝飾以密集的藍色圖案，以水波花卉為背景，上有海獸。外底雙圈內署款“弘光元年曠府佳器”（曠姓府第的精良器皿，弘光元年為1644年）。帶有這種裝飾但署嘉靖寄托年款的瓷盤，在1640–1644左右的“哈徹號”沉船曾有發現。瓷器，青花江西省景德鎮清代到民國，約1900–1949年
