Ma Yuan, with the name of Qinshan, is a native of Shanxi Province. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Guangzong and Ningzong (1190-1224) served as imperial edicts for the painting academy. The landscape, flowers and birds, and characters are all excellent, and they are as famous as Xia Gui, so they are called “Ma Xia”.
