A shepherd boy was lying on the back of a cow. The calf followed, necking and croaking. The old cow wagged its tail accordingly. The mother and son loved each other and described their desire to live. This painting is not printed by the author, but is mounted with an autograph written by Liang Qingbiao, a connoisseur of the Qing Dynasty. It says, “The Painting of Li Xi’s Ancient Cows”. However, the painting style of cattle body and chapped stone is different from that of Li Tang (1049-1130 AD), or it belongs to the early Ming Dynasty.
