Comments:Published PDF date : Qing Qianlong 1736-1795 Room 95 label text:PDF B549Cup with gilt floral decoration This deep porcelain cup has a six-character underglaze blue reign mark of the Qianlong period on the base. It was then covered with a transparent glaze inside and out and fired at a high temperature. Later it was given a second firing to add an iron-black glaze outside. A third layer of decoration was added over this in the form of gold and silver flowers and other emblems which can be seen as the light hits the cup from the sides.
