  • Description:
This painting is titled “Mi Fu in Xiangyang in the autumn of Chongning Bingxu (1103)”. The text is “Yuan Hui Poems” written by Cao Zhi describing the New Year’s Day celebration scene of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms Period. It was originally collected by Liang Bin, a friend of Zhang Zhao. In the 43rd year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1778), Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty commented that although this volume had Mi Fu’s treasury department, it could still be seen with careful identification that the whole volume was filled with double hooks, which was a fine copy of Mi Fu’s handwriting. He thought that this volume could not compare with the naive look of the Li Sao Scripture without the treasury. The postscript praised by the Emperor Qianlong and Zhang Zhao in the seventh year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1742) was not inconsiderate, but because of “people’s knowledge. If you don’t want to be explicit, you can always copy the words.”
