In this painting, a scribe drank alone on the boat, and the boy servant beside him either drew water, cooked food, or stopped to take a nap. The painter placed the main scene under the rock wall with the triangle protruding from the right painting, on which there were coiled and knotted trees. The surface of the stone was painted with a quick and bold axe chapping technique, while the leaves were sketched to convey the movement of rustling. This style of composition and bold brushwork is closely related to Zhang Lu and should be the work of Zhang Lu School.
