- Dynasty: Song dynasty
- Category: Calligraphic works
- Author: Cai Xiang;蔡襄
- Form: 冊(蝴蝶裝‧方幅式)
- Description:
Cai Xiang (1012-1067), with the word Junmo, was a Xianyou from Fujian. Calligraphy learns from Yu Shinan and Yan Zhenqing, and also adopts the methods of Jin people. The thickness of the pen used in the post changes greatly, the outer edge of the line is bright and clear, and the last pen is sharp and often reveals the pen heart. Therefore, it is speculated that the pen used to write this letter should be Jian Hao, with a short and fat appearance and a firm heart, which is close to the Sanzhuo pen in the record. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhuge family’s Sanzhuo pen was the most popular. At the beginning, the tail of the millet mouse twirled the heart. Later, Mei Yaochen introduced the hamster whisker, which was loved by Du Yan, Cai Xiang and other scholars. The “Sanzhuo” of the “Great Thing” mentioned in the article should refer to the most famous moustache Sanzhuo pen at that time.
