- Description:
This post is Huang Tingjian’s seven character quatrains in his late years (about 1100 years), which he wrote in reply to Wang Shen (after 1048-1104) in his middle age (1087 years). The poem uses allusions to metaphor his dilemma of being difficult to write poems. It is a cursive sketch. Because it is limited in the writing range, the strokes are reserved and restrained. With strong and straight strokes, the ink color is thick and dry, showing a strong and solid texture. It is a masterpiece of delicacy.
