Description:
A monk’s / lama’s hat / cap; worn whilst travelling; circular, with flat crown. Crown made of overlapping yellow satin silk cloth with red cotton velvet macramé knot in middle. Sides (upper) made from black silk velvet cloth; sides (lower) made from pieces of cream leather (vestige of beige coloured fur). Many holes in leather revealing cream fleece padding. Hat stiffened with animal fibres and size (?). Lined with red tabby cotton cloth.
