Description:
This emerald-green glazed porcelain brush-washer is moulded in the form of a three-dimensional butterfly with open wings and curling antennae. Its upper wings are decorated with moulded flower heads and each pierced with a tapering hole large enough to hold the head of a writing brush. The base has a raised edge, is glazed green and has three small spur marks for firing in the kiln.
