Description:
Round covered porcelain box with underglaze blue decoration. This small box has rounded sides and a flattened domed cover and stands on a low foot ring. On top of the box is a lobed cartouche framing a phoenix with a band of chrysanthemum scroll around the rim and box tray. The base is marked with a poetic mark in four characters which read ‘Ming yue shuang qing’ [The bright moon shines purely]. Lid and tray are stuck together with a powdery substance.
