Description:
Stoneware bowl with ‘fahua’-type decoration. Similar to BM Franks.196+, this bowl has rounded sides and an inverted mouth with a thickened rim. Its base is recessed and glazed. Inside it has a thick turquoise glaze and outside a design of lotus flower, leaf and bud is repeated thrice in trailed slip infilled with turquoise and white on an aubergine ground over a low-fired stoneware clay body.
