Description:
Shallow open bowl on thick foot ring. Interior painted in green, white and aubergine-black enamels on amber ground with dense design of nine cranes among leafing and flowering lotus scroll; exterior painted with tianlu, qilin, and two horses cavorting among clouds above stylised waves. On base, apocryphal six-character Jiajing reign mark in underglaze blue within double ring. Repaired with rivets.
