  According to Du Fu’s poem “The Way of Beauty”, this painting depicts the scene of the travel of the wives of Qin, Han and Guo. The woman has a plump figure with white forehead and nose. The horses are fat and strong. They can ride slowly with a bridle. The modeling of people and horses, hair buns and clothing, and color painting methods in the whole work are all Tang style. At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, the painting academy once painted “The Painting of Zhang Xuan, the Lady of Guo State, Traveling in Spring”, which is very similar to the composition of this painting. This painting does not have the author’s stamp. Later generations or because Li Gonglin (1049-1106) was good at painting people and horses, it was said that this painting was written by Li Gonglin. However, from the perspective of painting style, this painting was completed after the Southern Song Dynasty.
