Huang Tingjian (1045-1105 AD), who was named Lu Zhi, was a Taoist in the valley, and was a native of Fenning (now Xiushui, Jiangxi Province) in Hongzhou. He was a great poet in the Northern Song Dynasty and one of the four great calligraphers in the Northern Song Dynasty, together with Su Shi, Mi Fu and Cai Xiang.
