- Description:
Monk Fencai (1011-1091), whose common surname is Xu and name is Yuanjing, was originally the abbot of Tianzhu Temple in Hangzhou. In 1080, he retired to Longjing Shengyuan on the West Lake. In 1089, Su Shi became the governor of Hangzhou, associating with eloquents and giving poems and advocating peace, just like the friendship between Tao Yuanming and Monk Huiyuan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. This regular script with lines in it is a typical example of Su Shi’s mature writing style in his middle age.
