Li Zong’e (964-1012), born in Raoyang, Shenzhou (today’s Raoyang, Hebei), is the son of Li Fang. At the age of seven, people can be literate. Shame on my father’s appointment as an official. He was elected by the township alone. He was the first scholar to be awarded the title of scholar. Mi Fu’s History of Calligraphy has mentioned Li Zongge’s main text for a long time. Scholars all learned from Li Zongge’s book in order to be good at it.
