Xia Gui (who lived around 1180-1230), known as Yu Yu, was born in Qiantang (Hangzhou), Zhejiang Province, and was a court painter in the middle of the Southern Song Dynasty. Half of the composition is often taken. It is called “Xia Banbian”, which is as famous as Ma Yuan and also called “Ma Xia”.
