The “Chen Ma Yuan Painting” is simple in composition and meticulous in color. Empress Yang (1162-1233) wrote a poem in small regular script, “It is beautiful when facing the wind, and it is beautiful when showing red and beautiful.”. The two seals of “Kungua” and “calligraphy of the surname Yang” should be painted after the Yang family was made queen in the second year of Emperor Ningzong Jiatai (1202).
