  • Description:
A peak rises in the river, separated by a river, and the river is surrounded by a bridge, a ridge, a remote peak and a distant water. The rocks are all covered with hemp chaps. The center of the round pen is chapped and dyed layer by layer. The ink color is dripping. The trees are also the center of the painting. Although they are small, they still have a sound momentum. This painting has no name. Dong Qichang of Shitang identified it as Juran’s work. However, it was compared with the Qingjiang Spring Dawn in Wuzhen, Yuan Dynasty, which is now in our collection. The ink composition and shapes of mountains, rocks and trees of the two paintings are similar, which seems to be from the same loom. Juran (active in the late 10th century), from Nanjing, is a monk of Kaiyuan Temple. He is good at painting landscapes, and his painting techniques are learned from Dong Yuan.
