  • Description:
According to the inscription written in 1625 by Wang Duo, a famous calligrapher in the early Qing Dynasty, on the back of the scroll, this painting is classified as the work of Guan Tong, a student of Jing Hao (active in the middle of the tenth century). Its content is quite different from the Autumn Mountain and Late Green, which depicts a valley scene full of human activities. The details of travel, hotels and residents and livestock in villages are vividly mastered. This reminds us of Guan Tong’s records in Xuanhe Paintings Manual, that he lived in a village and lived in a wild ferry, and that he lived in a fishing market and a mountain post. However, in terms of the treatment of the mountain texture, this work is relatively simple and clumsy. It may not be Guan Tong’s authentic work, but is the creation of students, such as the business training in the middle of the 11th century.
