Wooden building inlaid with copper decorated with wooden whistle bells, British, 18th century, 48 cm high, 33 cm wide and 22 cm thick
The wooden shell of this clock is inlaid with copper patterns. On the front is a two-needle dial with European landscape lacquer painting on the top. There is a windmill in the upper part of the scene, and there are cattle, sheep and herders in front of the scene. There are three sets of systems, namely, travel time, management and music activity landscape. The movement is composed of strip box, leather string and tray wheel, which is rotated by the transmission gear and is equipped with the escapement mechanism of the motor shaft
After the machine starts, the wooden whistles with different lengths in the music mechanical device play a harmonious music. In the scene, the windmill rotates rapidly, the cattle and sheep run, and the herders follow closely. Made by James Newton, London.
